Walkers wanted in Chesterfield and north Derbyshire

Get paid for the walk you'd do anyway.

Legwork puts local leaflet rounds on a map. You pick a zone near you, walk it at your own pace on a day that suits you, and get paid for every leaflet that lands. The app draws your route as you go, like a running app does, so nobody has to take your word for it.

Free to join. You keep 75% of every job. Paid every Friday.

How it works

Each job is a local business that wants leaflets through letterboxes in a part of town. We split every job into zones, and each zone is a few hours of walking.

1

Pick a zone

Open the job board and choose a zone near you. You can see the streets, how many leaflets, the dates it needs doing and exactly what it pays before you say yes.

2

Walk it

Collect the leaflets, type your zone's code into the Legwork app and press Start. The map shows your zone, and your phone buzzes if you wander outside it.

3

Get paid

Press Finish when the last leaflet's gone. We check your route, approve the zone and pay you by bank transfer on Friday.

What a zone pays

Every zone shows its pay before you take it. The rate is the same for everyone: £51 for every 1,000 leaflets you deliver, which is 75% of what the business pays us.

Zones are usually between a few hundred and a couple of thousand leaflets.

Times are a guide. A street of terraced houses with doors close together is quicker than a road of detached houses with long drives, and many walkers manage somewhere between 150 and 250 doors an hour once they've found their rhythm.

Who walks with Legwork

You don't need experience. You need comfortable shoes, a phone, and a few free hours.

Why businesses trust a Legwork round

Leaflet dumping is the reason a lot of businesses gave up on door drops. Legwork shows the business a live map of every zone, the route each walker took and how much of each street has been walked, so honest walkers get the credit.

You can see your own route

The app records your walk on your phone, even with no signal, and shows your miles, time and steps.

Tracking only while you work

Recording runs between Start and Finish, inside the zone's working hours. Nobody sees where you go on your way home.

Updates every 30 minutes

Your route goes to the business in batches, about every half hour, and in full when you press Finish. It is a progress map, not a live dot following you round.

Questions walkers ask

Am I an employee?

No. You're self-employed. You choose which zones to take, which days to walk them and how long you take within the dates the business has booked. You're responsible for your own tax, and your earnings page shows everything you've been paid.

How do I get the leaflets?

Each zone says where to collect them. For most local jobs that's from the business or from us in Chesterfield, and the details are on the zone before you take it.

What if I can't finish a zone?

Hand it back before you start and it goes back on the board. If you've already started, message us and we'll sort it out together.

Which phones does the app work on?

The Legwork app is for iPhone, with Android to follow. When you join, we'll send you the link to install it. The app needs location access while you're walking a zone.
